Coating material price?
Is the 16oz bottle with catalyst enough? How many books can the 16oz and catalyst cover?
ALSO....There Is NO WAY you PRESSED that BOOK!! I have tried and Tried and i have the Same Press! Did you Hang it off the SIDE?? And didnt show that Part truthfully???
Thank You So Much For a response! I am Having a horrible time executing this! ugh, I got a Photo Album and i think it bleeded through, it turned brownish black while it was dryin. BIG Question is Did you CURE yours or you went RIGHT into Pressing it After it dried?? I found the Michael's One i will try it
do i need a sublimation printer?
So you don’t heat it before applying the picture?? Other videos you have to cure it…. Help!!
I have the same question
what type of paper was used?
Where can I find a step by step video?
You can see the detailed instructions on the PolyGloss webpage: www.dyepress.com/polygloss-sublimation-coating-for-all-hard-substrates-glossy-finish/
Why did you place the plastic bin over it?
To slow down the drying process in order to allow the bubbles to pop before the coating starts to dry.
Is the photo on sublimation paper or photo copy paper?
Sublimation paper
Can I have directions on how to do this
You can see the detailed instructions on the PolyGloss webpage. Look for the paragraph about Rustoleum high heat white spray paint: www.dyepress.com/polygloss-sublimation-coating-for-all-hard-substrates-glossy-finish/
I’m absolutely IN LOVE!! Was the Journey made our leather? Or Felt??
It’s not leather. It’s some kind of synthetic material. It’s from Michael’s.
Im going to try for the 2nd time today. The image wasnt flat & smooth. Im might have used too much or pressed it too high & too long that it melted the liquid
Add an extra silicone mat, increase your pressure and increase your time.
Ok, thanks. I tried it a couple more times. I'm getting better each time..
I love this! If I were to order the Polygloss, does that little bottle (not sure what its called that you squirt in) come with it? And how long do you let the book dry for b4 sublimating on it? It doesnt have to get heated first right?
Yes, the catalyst comes with the PolyGloss. You can see the complete instructions on the webpage: www.dyepress.com/polygloss-sublimation-coating-for-all-hard-substrates-glossy-finish/
When is the small bottle of catalyst being used or you only using the dyepress poly gloss?
The catalyst is mixed with the PolyGloss. You can see the full instructions here: www.dyepress.com/polygloss-sublimation-coating-for-all-hard-substrates-glossy-finish/
At the end after you had completed the sublimation of the image, you wipe the book down with something - what are you using to wipe it down with? Thanks for your help! Also the Michael's journal that you used - is it the one that has sort of a fabric feeling cover? Getting ready to order PolyGloss. Can't wait to get started using it. Thanks!
I wiped the sticky paper residue off the journal with a wet paper towel.
Don't you have to cure the Poly gloss.
Yes, otherwise your image will peel off
what type of journal is that? Is there a link
It’s from Michael’s
How long did you have to wait for the high heat spray paint to dry before you coated the tumbler with the dyepress gloss?
About 30 minutes
Where did you get the pottery wheel?
It’s a cake decorating stand that we put cardboard on top of.
there is no way my glowforge will know where it is hahaha
How do you get it to cut on your glowforge. I just got my order today and can’t wait to use it.
That's awesome!
Although very fast through the steps, I live the video. May I please know what it is you stick on/covering before you cut to make it com ou sooooo clean. TIA for all your time and sharing ❤️
masking tape
Totally AWESOME.
How long do you let dry when you spray the first time? Also, what are the measurements for mixing the two liquids together?
The white spray paint dries fast, so you can apply the next coat in about 30 minutes. Add 1 ml of catalyst per ounce of PolyGloss. You can see the details here: www.dyepress.com/polygloss-sublimation-coating-for-all-hard-substrates-glossy-finish/
Why was the image cloudy after the heat press? What is being wiped off?
The sticky residue from the sub paper stuck to the tumbler. We washed it off with a wet paper towel.
What are the silicone mats that you put down when you press it?
How long do you keep it under the cover
So how long do you bakefor ?
275F for 25 minutes to cure
Why are you covering after applying the poly coating
Slows down the drying process to allow the bubbles to pop before the PolyGloss starts to dry.
هل موجود فى مصر
That came out great! Can't wait for the full video!!
Great job love it ❤
What time and temp do you bake the polygloss..what's the purpose of putting it under the jar
275F for 25 minutes. The jar keeps the PolyGloss from drying too fast in order to allow the bubbles to pop before it dries. Cover for 10 minutes
Can you use it with an airbrush?
The airbrush pushes the coating out with too much force, causing an uneven application. A gravity-feed spray gun works better.
@@Dyepress thanks!
Thank you. Is it possible to do a full step-by-step tutorial with explanation/narration 🤔? I ask because I'd like to know how it was done, length of time, temperature, etc.
Scroll down the PolyGloss page to Step 4: wood with white paint to see the details: www.dyepress.com/polygloss-sublimation-coating-for-all-hard-substrates-glossy-finish/
Since it is really dry in Arizona, we cover the wet substrate with a “Tupperware tent” for 10 minutes to allow the bubbles to pop before the PolyGloss starts to dry. If you live in a humid climate, like Florida, you won’t need to use the tent. Once the PolyGloss was completely dry (approximately 3 hours) I cured the tile in the convection oven at 300F for 22 minutes. I sublimated at 400F for 4 minutes.
Details please, time & temp?
